Thanks to Wells Fargo Bank for sponsoring the Rotary Kids Parade again. Check in by 5:00p.m. for the customary start time of 6:00. The parade travels from Wells Fargo at 130th down Lake City Way NE to 125th Ave and loops back to the beginning. A perfect parade route for the little ones so bring them along. Remember, no motorized vehicles, but pedal pushing is great. Furry friends on a leash are also welcome.

What makes a parade? At Seafair time it’s pirates, princesses, clowns, and costumed characters. Add to that music, drill teams, colorful floats, antique cars and even a stagecoach. So what makes the Lake City parade different? It is also a performance parade with drill teams “strutting their stuff” and the antics of the ever popular Lake City Western Vigilantes. All this kicked off by a thrilling performance by the Seattle Police Department Motorcycle Drill Team.

On Saturday, August 4th, at 7:00 p.m., the parade will proceed south on Lake City Way NE from NE 135th Street to NE 123rd Street. The reviewing stand will be located on the northwest corner of Lake City Way NE and NE 127th Street. A true family parade, many of the participants got their start in the Rotary Kids Parade in years past.

So stake out your spot and then make a day of it by taking in the street fair, kids’ activities, entertainment, and vintage car show. Have dinner at the Salmon Bake or grab a bite at a food booth and be at the parade route by 6:00 p.m. to see the Rotary Kids parade which moves south on Lake City Way NE from NE 130th Street to NE 125th Street and back.
